Via business communications: When you engage with us through email or other channels, we may store your contact information and communication history in our customer relationship management (CRM) system for the purpose of managing our business relationship.

Direct B2B communications such as email, WhatsApp, and WeChat exchanges between businesses are considered ordinary business correspondence and are not subject to this website privacy policy.

We do not currently collect cookies, analytics data, or any other browsing information on this website. In the future, we may deploy self-hosted, privacy-preserving analytics (e.g., Plausible, Umami, or similar open-source tools). These tools do not use cookies and do not collect personally identifiable information — they provide anonymized, aggregate visit statistics only. We will update this policy if and when such analytics are added.

3. Why We Collect It

We collect this data solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry, providing you with information about our products and services, communicating with you about potential business collaboration, and managing our ongoing business relationship.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing your personal data is your explicit consent, which you provide by checking the consent box on our contact forms. For ongoing business communications, processing is also necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Cross-border data transfer: Your data is stored and processed on servers located in China. For EEA residents, this constitutes a cross-border data transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) equivalent protections, to protect your data in accordance with GDPR Article 46.

5. How We Store & Protect It

Your data is stored securely in our internal systems and self-hosted CRM, accessible only to Imaginer team members who need it to respond to your inquiry or manage our business relationship.

Retention period: We retain your personal data for a maximum of 6 months after your last interaction with us, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law. After this period, your data will be securely deleted or anonymized.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We use the following service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Email service: Tencent Enterprise Email (腾讯企业邮) — for sending and receiving business communications. Tencent is a Chinese company bound by Chinese data protection laws.
• CRM system: Self-hosted open-source CRM on our own servers — no third-party access to customer data.
• Website hosting & form processing: Our website is hosted on Tencent EdgeOne Pages, a global edge CDN platform. When you submit the contact form, your data is processed instantaneously by EdgeOne's serverless function at the edge node closest to you, and forwarded directly to our Tencent Enterprise Email inbox via SMTP. No form data is persistently stored on EdgeOne's servers — the function processes the submission in memory, sends the email, and discards the data immediately. EdgeOne is a Tencent service bound by Chinese data protection laws, consistent with our data residency commitment.

We do not currently store business files or documents on any third-party cloud storage platforms.

All service providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only process it in accordance with our instructions.

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Withdraw your consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To request deletion of your data, simply send an email to richard@imaginer-opto.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and we will process your request within 30 days. No forms, no friction — just email us.
